Here are some really simple changes you can make in your life straight away to bolster your time keeping and become more punctual:

  • Set the time on your morning alarm clock 10 minutes early. You will wake up working to a deadline, but setting the time wrong will trick your mind into thinking you are late when you really have a bit of time spare for a change.
  • Reward Yourself. Give yourself rewards for punctual time keeping. Perhaps as small as a chocolate bar, or something bigger like new clothes for a big time keeping success.
  • Set your watch five minutes early. Under the same vein as above this will help you if you are one of those people who are constantly late for appointments and meetings.
  • Where are you wasting time? Do you spend time you don’t have surfing the net? Reading your emails? Perhaps making unrequired phone calls? Whatever your time wasting habits are cut the unimportant activities out and spend your time on things which are essential.
  • Outsource. Outsource wherever possible tasks which you are not good at. You should always be doing tasks which you are a specialist at, spend your time wisely doing what you are good at whenver possible
  • Keep to a Routine. If repeat some tasks every day you get quciker at them through repetition. You will become better at these routine tasks as you practice them every day.
