Olympics – Carlos Nuzman – The Father Of Rio 2016

Olympics

homes The International Olympic Committee (IOC), in a historic step, chose Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) to host the 2016 Summer Games. After enduring several decades of frustration, Brazil under the leadership of Carlos Arthur Nuzman, one of the world’s best Olympian leaders, won the election in September 2009.These Games will make their first-ever appearance in South America.

This is one of the greatest achievements in Brazilian history. In this century, there are also other achievements: In July 2007 the Pan American Games were held in Rio de Janeiro. At the same year, the Christ the Redeemer Statue was named one of the New Seven Wonders on Earth. But there’s another award: The 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held in Brazil.

juegos Each of the four countries had its own motives and ambitions seeking its bid to host the Summer Olympics of 2016.While US under the leadership of its President Obama, tried its best to win the bid for Chicago, who led his country’s delegation all the way from US to Denmark and by making his brief speech for eight minutes before the IOC members. The underlying motive was to do something for the ailing economy.

The delegation from Spain was led by its King, the Mayor of Madrid Alberto Ruiz Gallardin and the Octogenarian Honorary life member of IOC, Mr. Samaranch, to bat for Madrid.

The delegation from Brazil was led by its President Lula along with other eminent sport persons including the football legend Pele.

The delegation from Japan was led by the Japanese Prime Minister, Yukio Hatoyama and the Governor of Tokyo Shintaro Ishiharo and a number of former Olympic Champions.

Yardsticks for selection of a candidate city as host:

IOC members before launching the final bidding process prepares an evaluation report about each candidate city whose country has applied for the bid. The criteria for evaluating a country are based on the following factors:-

1) The Government support,

2) The legal issues and the public opinion,

3)General Infrastructure,

4) sport venues,

5) Olympic village,

6) environment condition and its impact,

7) accommodation,

8) Transport concept,

9) safety and security,

10) experience from past sport events and

11) finance.

On the basis of the above mentioned criteria, the list of candidate cities was short listed from 7 to 4.

The Bidding Process:

Though the final selection of venue might have been slated to 2, October, 2009, the method of selecting the host from amongst the candidate cities was a lengthy process.

The International Olympic Committee launched the bidding process for 2016 Olympics on May, 16, 2007.All member countries of the IOC were called for to apply for the bid.

On September, 14,2007, IOC announced a list of 7 candidate cities, Baku, Azerbaijan, Doha, Qatar, Madrid, Spain, Prague, the Czechoslovakia, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Tokyo, Japan.

By preparing an evaluation report, on the basis of the criteria mentioned above, IOC eliminated Baku, Doha and Prague on June 5, 2008.The evaluation report was released on September, 2, 2009 and the final date of the bid was fixed on October, 2, 2009, in Copenhagen, Denmark,

On the bidding day, only 97 members out of 106 members of IOC had to elect the host through voting from the candidate cities.

Real Estate Under his Olympian chairmanship, the South American country has one of the most successful Olympian projects in the Third World. The Brazilian Olympic Committee embarked on a massive training program to prepare more physical education teachers, coaches and, of course, athletes (from sprinters, sailors, boxers and shooters to softball players, wrestlers, and divers). What is more, Nuzman supervised the construction of swimming pools, stadiums, and other Olympian venues (Joao Havelange Stadium, Nelson Piquet Coliseum, etc). Since then, he also inaugurated a world-class sports centre to improve the quality of the national trophies. In the past, because there were not world-class sports facilities in the South American nation, the Olympic team, including Djan Madruga (an exceptional swimmer), Joaquin Cruz (Olympic champ in 1984) and Ricardo Prado (who set a new world record of 4:19.78 for the 400 metres individual medley in the early 80s), as well as Esmeralda de Jesus Freitas Garcia Silami and Gustavo Borges, had to train in the States and Europe.

In the years before the site for the 2016 Summer Olympics were announced, Nuzman had other victories: The 2006 South American Games and 2007 Continental Games were held in Brazil, respectively (that’s why a number of venues were built before he made the bid for the 2016 Olympics). At the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Nuzman made clear its intention to bid for the 31st Olympics. In Rio, the national team won 161 medals (54 gold, 40 silver, 67 bronze) and finished third in the medal count, ahead of Canada, Mexico and Argentina. But there’s more: At the Games of the 29th Olympiad in Beijing, Brazil won more gold medals than Cuba, Switzerland, Argentina, Mexico and India.

In the second round of election, Rio secured 46 votes, Madrid 29 and Tokyo 20. Hence, Japan had to make its exit, after the second round was over. Since, no candidate city had secured more than 50 + votes in the second round of voting, a third and final round of voting was necessitated.

In the third round of voting, the contest was narrowed between Brazil and Spain, in which Brazil scored 66 votes and Spain scored only 32 votes; thereby Rio De Janeiro became the winner candidate.

The Historic Announcement:

On 2, October,2009;1830 hours; The IOC President, Jacques Rogge made the historic announcement that Rio De Janeiro would host the summer Olympics of 2016, creating a sensation across the world and making the people of Brazil ecstatic. For the first time in the history of Olympics, Rio De Janeiro, a city of Brazil, a South American country has been chosen to host the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Over the next years, Nuzman, as Brazil’s top volleyball leader, backep up a host of national teams, clubs, coaches, and players. Contrary to most Olympic leaders, he did not accept that a Brazilian volleyball player can play in Europe and Asia. But Nuzman’s reward for his perseverance came in 1987. Without a doubt, he made the world headlines when the Brazilian women’s volleyball team won the 1987 FIVB Junior World Cup in Seoul, whose victory put an end to Korea’s attempt to become the first squad to win three world championships. All his life, he dreamed about winning it. For more than ten years, Nuzman, a former volleyball player, worked daily for several hours at a stretch. From then onwards, there were a host of international awards, including an Olympic gold medal (1992). During his leadership, Brazil also hosted dozens of international championships.

Brazil is home to a number of well-known individuals: Edson Arantes do Nascimento (the so-called “Pele”/ soccer), Oscar Niemeyer (architect), Gisele Bundchen (a top supermodel), and Carlos Jobim (composer of “The Girl of Ipanema”), but Carlos Nuzman is perhaps the most popular Brazilian in this century because he has put the sports on top of the national agenda in Brazil, an Olympic-obsessed Latin American nation You can be published without charge. London 2012, Who Is Going To Be Trampoline Champion

Olympics

Yes it might be early to say who will take the trampolines gold in London in 2012, I am just trying to let people know let’s get excited Olympic games are not far off. This probably the second biggest thing happening in UK after 1966’s World cup. This will be a great year for sports as European Championship will also be held on 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

Gymnasts perform their acrobatic skills in trampolines, which bacame a part of Olympic games in 2000. Somersaults and twists are couple of common acrobats performed in a trampoline. Twists and somersaults are certainly the hard jumps while trampolining. For many years Russian athletes rulled acrabats but now they have been taken over by China. In 2008 China finished first in the medal tally before USA. USA finish second behind China with 36 gold medals and China won 15 more than USA to finish with 51 gold medals. This is absolutely brilliant from the Chinese.

Hence the kids in China are practising trampoline jumps on whatever size they can afford from 8ft trampolines to 10ft trampolines. Even though the sport has only started few years ago (trampolines) it is great to see children enjoying it. Its the success of the nation in the Olympics that is getting these kids interested in these sports.

In UK kids are only focused on playing football and some play cricket occasionally. Even if they start from when they are kids when they get to the national level they cannot perform as we have seen from this year’s World cup. We all know there is something wrong somewhere but not sure what. Though we have to realise that China has massive population so they will eventually find talented people for different games. In the coming 2012 Olympics in London I believe China will take the overall lead in gold medals again.

Get Ready For The 2012 Olympics – Power Protection

Olympics

mortgage refinance Businesses and organizations operating in or around the capital at that time of the 2012 Olympic Games will be significantly more susceptible to power cuts, interruptions and power problems (sub-standard quality, which can cause brownouts, spikes, transients, sags, surges, electrical noise, harmonics, frequency fluctuations, which can all result in damaged equipment and data loss or corruption).

Power cuts have been synonymous with Olympic games throughout modern history: In 2008, China shut down power hungry industries, such as petrochemicals, due to severe power shortages in some host cities. Sydney Airport suffered a total power failure during the 2004 Olympic Games. Athens, too, was not without power problems – but was without power on a number of occasions – during the games in 2000.

juegos Whistler Creekside

With extensive experience hosting International Ski Federation World Cup competitions, Whistler Mountain is an optimal site for the Alpine Skiing competition at the 2010 Olympics. Located about a 5 minute drive from the main village, Whistler Creek was the original ski entryway to the mountain when it first opened in 1966. Creekside will host both Olympic and Paralympics downhill, super G, giant slalom, slalom and super combined skiing events.

property management Existing uninterruptible power supplies may require a complete overhaul to ensure their full and reliable operation for the duration of the games and lead up to them. This is particularly true if they are seven years old or more, or will be in the next two years, when an overhaul is usually carried out.

UPS overhaul is a preventative maintenance service, carried out every seven years or so, which involves equipment disassembly and inspection of parts for signs of wear-and-tear or other abnormalities. An overhaul takes into account every piece of equipment in a power protection solution.

A power protection solution contains many consumable components, which will require replacement at certain times throughout its lifetime. The purpose of an overhaul is to determine when and if replacement is necessary at any given point, rather than waiting until a breakdown occurs. There are also rotating or ‘wearable’ parts not considered ‘consumables’ but with an indeterminate ‘end-of-life’. A visual inspection of these at overhaul will spot signs of wear or imminent breakdown. In general, during a UPS overhaul, parts will be cleaned or replaced if faulty, re-greased and/or lubricated where necessary and generally preserved in tip-top condition, thus eliminating the causes of deterioration such as abrasion, looseness and dimensional changes.

Whistler Sliding Centre

Located in breath-taking Fitzsimmons Valley on Blackcomb Mountain, the Whistler Sliding Centre will host the high performance sliding events. The site contains a 1,450 metre long competition track noted to be among the fastest in the world. During the 2010 Olympics, the Sliding Centre is due to host bobsleigh, luge and skeleton events.

Used in isolation or with a combination of uninterruptible power supplies and generating systems, a Static Transfer Switch is ideal for use in projects that require the highest possible levels of resilience and protection of critical loads including data centres, security, surveillance and transportation systems.

Static transfer switches cater for high power ratings and can be hardwired for either single or three-phase inputs and outputs. They can also be connected in parallel to provide additional resilience. Care has to be taken to ensure a single-point-of-failure is not introduced on the output side of the uninterruptible power supply. Each device is fused or protected by a circuit-breaker and should this rupture or open, the load could be dropped.

Small businesses and those further away from the action (outside London) are not immune either. In many cases, the further they are away from the main electrical distribution hub the less reliable their supply will be (and the more prone to power problems as described earlier). If electrical supplies are strained in built up and urban areas, you can bet your life they will be more so in rural areas and further a field.

The only way of securing electrical supply during the 2012 Olympic Games is to ensure adequate, effective and properly planned power protection strategy with the implementation of uninterruptible power supplies and onsite, independent generation You can be published without charge. Soccer Training Tips: Want To Do Stretching

Olympics

Soccer training tips

Let me tell you that stretching is an vital part of soccer training tips and professional coaches highly recommend it along with almost every player in every sport practicing it daily? As a sport, soccer is growing and developing incessantly in its superiority.

There are two kinds of stretching; static and dynamic, that are slotted in planning training for the soccer season.

Static stretching requires the kids to extend their muscles as far as they can and hold for a given duration of time. Rebounding, rhythmic bouncing, and recurring motions are involved in dynamic stretching. Generally, static stretching is considered as more effective and involves less risk than dynamic stretching.

This article discusses some benefits of stretching that go a long way in making a good player great.

Soccer Training

Stretching reduces injuries: Continuous stretching during the day and performed over a period of time may promote muscle growth that, consecutively, could reduce the risk of injury. Stretching also provides a way of improving the size and strength of muscles.

Stretching influences flexibility: Stretching puts off the loss of flexibility. Still, the effects of stretching are way better when it is done for a long period of time than for a shorter duration.

Performing stretching for a few minutes before starting any playing activity is likely to enhance flexibility. One of the most important soccer training tips is to focus on enhancing the player’s range of motion by spreading out the stretching program over a period of months together.

Stretching perks up performance: When stretching program is designed specifically to suit soccer needs of the players, their performance improves.

Make sure that the kids enjoy stretching: Make stretching fun for the kids by including a variety of soccer drills into your session. Keep changing the type of warm up exercises that you perform before stretching. Try to include games such as the tag game, ball tag, and keep away.

Contemplate on the stretching, sense and know each stretch, along with checking for stiffness in the body.

One 15-30-second stretch for each muscle group is sufficient for most players, but some kids require longer stretches and more repetitions as well.

The reason is that when the temperature of muscles is higher than normal, tension decreases and extensibility increases. Those players who wish to sustain or increase their flexibility can partially attain this goal by stretching. It’s advisable to perform stretching exercises when the body temperature is higher than normal as it is safer and more useful.

This is the reason why some coaches make kids stretch even after a workout. To prevent muscles for tightening too fast, make your players do some stretching after they’ve practiced soccer skills.

Generally, players who exercise an active warm-up prior to stretching get a better range of motion than those who only stretch. So if injury prevention is your aim, stop stretching before exercise and increase the warm up time.

I again reiterate that the most important of all soccer training tips is to remember that hurried stretching does not help kids become flexible, gets monotonous and pointless, so let them take their own time to warm up before stretching. Soccer Training Tips: Uncover Secrets To Achieve Flexibility

Olympics

Soccer training tips

I’d like to ask you something. Almost all soccer coaches tend to ignore the soccer training tips while designing training programs for kids with the intent of just making up the numbers and going through the motions. Are you doing the same thing?

Before you design your next training programs, make sure you set some specific goals for your team. Ascertain what you specifically wish to achieve from the training session and do everything required to get that done.

Add to your training program such soccer drills that are new, innovative, and fun to perform so as to add variety. It will break the monotony of doing the same drills day in and day out. Once players start enjoying their practice sessions, you’ll notice that their performance will improve consistently.

Regardless of the level at which they play and their age, your players need to learn to listen to you and give due respect. Respecting each other feelings promotes a friendly atmosphere for both the kids as well as the coach.

Soccer Training

A high level of flexibility greatly benefits every soccer player. There are 3 types of flexibility.

Dynamic flexibility: This is known as the capacity of a player to perform quick movements within the full range motion in the joint, for instance; twisting from side to side.

Static active flexibility: The ability to stretch a tough muscle by using the tension within that muscle is termed as static active flexibility. Let’s take an example; holding one leg in front of you and keeping it as high as you can. Doing this your hamstring is stretched and as the hip flexors and quadriceps grip your leg up.

Static passive: This kind of flexibility allows a player to make use of his body weight or some external force to hold a stretch. For example; picture yourself holding your leg out in front of you and relaxing it on a chair.

Now let’s go to the next in line of soccer training tips. Here, you need to check if the kids are clad in appropriate clothes that suit the weather conditions.

Training for soccer should be complemented by a fitness program that is designed to identify and improve upon the weak areas. Following are the factors that must be kept in mind when designing a training program like this.

Age of the player: With age, there is a decrease in the flexibility of soft tissues in the body that is directly related to the reduced range of movement, no matter what the gender. Even though, the more we remain active, the lesser are the chances of flexibility decreasing.

Gender: Girls exhibit a greater range of movement, independent of their age.

Action: Active kids are always better at performing soccer skills and exhibiting a greater range of movement that the inactive kids.

Injury: Injuries also hamper the range of motion in a joint.

Pain: There is a decrease in flexibility as pain increases that result in muscle spasms. But, strength training does not slow down flexibility if you do the exercises correctly and in full range of motion.

Genetics: The amount of flexibility that a player possesses also depends upon his genetics.

So, there should be no reason why you should not include soccer training tips into your training program for better productivity. You can perk up your coaching skills by joining our youth soccer coaching community that has a lot of articles, newsletters, and pertinent videos.
