Alternatives And Treatments For Acne

Kids And Teens

Most people go through stages in life where their skin rebels; you are not alone. 89% of people in their teens are affected and, though acne tends to decrease as the years go on, some adults are still severely affected. So what is one to do if one has sensitive skin or cannot take internal medications due to health problems? There are a few natural remedies for acne which may help to ease the severity of the situation.

Your cleanliness and what you eat are two large components. Skin must be cleaned, since oil and grease clog up pores. That is why it’s important to shower and wash your face and hair at least once per day. Diet is the next step. However, bodies react differently to different types of food. What may cause acne in one person may not have any detrimental affect on another. It is wise, though, to eat healthily and stay away from grease and sugar. Soda, candy, and fried food tend to be the worst offenders. Water and plenty of fruits and vegetables may not be as delicious, but they are far more refreshing for your skin and overall health.

Stress is another component; a long period of de-stressing is a good natural remedy to start to clear your skin. Though this may not be completely useful for chronic conditions, it will certainly help. One natural and very old remedy is any cleanser with sulphur in it. Sulphur exfoliates the skin and has antiseptic properties, so it is safe to use. The same is said of zinc.

Aloe and tea tree oil reduce swelling and redness, while some people think the answer lies in catching a few rays. A good, healthy sweat can clear skin by pushing oil and dirt from clogged pores. This only works if the sweat is cleaned right off after! Exercise is good for skin in general, since it helps circulation.

The difficult thing to understand is that few natural remedies are useful for very severe problems; the best thing to do would be to consult a dermatologist or doctor who understands your medical history and what you can handle.

There are myriad solutions if you look in the right place. Creams, scrubs, and medications–in combination or alone–can be put together to help your specific skin type. The problem with acne is that it can be hereditary or tied to your age or gender; it is hard for a natural remedy to cure that.

You would need something much more hard-hitting, meaning a medication. There have been numerous advances and break-throughs in this field; you don’t have to suffer through skin complaints when there are safe options that can be tailored to fit you. The only way to know what is right for you is to contact a doctor. A few imperfections on a surface as large as the skin are to be expected over the course of a person’s life, but that does not mean you have to suffer low self-esteem because of it.
