Apple in the year 2009 did really well in business and sold out about 11 million units across the globe. Seeing the fad for iPhone or iPod, this news doesn”t come as big surprise. But quite recently on a blog on iphones, I saw this post under the news category that over 3 billion Apple apps were downloaded within a small span of few months. The news is surely startling. 3 biliions is like a really huge number. And that too just in few months. Apple surely is making it big with every passing month.
The rate at which Apple apps are being downloaded clearly show Apple iPhone’s craze among users. Besides being high in number, possibly what makes Apple apps storefamous is that these apps are free of cost. The latest addition to the app gallery is the myTunes App which allows the user to easily locate the songs folder stored on the iPhone or iPod Touch.
Until now Apple hasn’t had any competition in the app section and it seems in future too it’s going to be hard for any brand to match up Apple app’’s success. Of late Android market seems to be working high on improving their App reach across places, however, it may not be easy to surpass or even come close to the standards set by Apple for cell phone stores. After Apple several brands have attempted to duplicate Apple’s app pattern, such as Mozilla, Intel(has planned Apps for netbooks) and many more.
And now that Apple has Quattro, a player in mobile advertising, it might also turn its App segment into a revenue making source. Quattro can advertise using Apple’s free apps, and thus Apple will benefit from getting its share in advertisement. So now Apple Apps will make capital too for Apple.
