A few days back Nokia filed a complaint against Apple for patent infringement. The lawsuit against Apple isn’t for only one particular product, but for all Apple products. Nokia claims that Apple has allegedly applied Nokia’s user interface, digital cameras, antennas and power management to design its products.

This is not the first time that Nokia has alleged Apple of violating the patent rights. Only some days before this incident, Nokia has filed a lawsuit to US ITC(International Trade Commission) against Apple. And Apple had reverted with identical patent infringement complaint against Apple. A little after Nokia’s sue, Apple went public and released that Nokia had infringed 13 of Apple’s patents.

This past year in 2009, Apple did outstanding business and sold about millions of units by the end of the year. In fact, it is said, Apple couldn’t meet the excessive demands from its customers. And just as the year started, there is something annoying ready for for it.
Nokia states it has about 1000 patent fillings (Nokia). And that Apple has duplicated Nokia’s work not just for one product but for all their products.
Should Nokia wins the case, Apple will have to withdraw selling its products that come under patent infringement– which will be horrific equally for Apple and Apple customers. Remember, though, this situation could require many years to resolve. Also who knows in the meanwhile, yet other players will be in news for a similar complications. Let’s wait and see which will be subsequent cellular company to get into the dispute and what the allegation will be.
