Antenna issues aside, Apple isn’t recalling iPhone 4and aren’t too scared of potential costs. The iPad made Q3 2010 a tremendous success for the company, writes PC Magazine. Sales numbers incorporated $ 3.25 billion net profit on revenue of $ 15.7 billion, and Apple is not looking back. Nevertheless, there may be even more excitement in store for fans of the technology business. If the Cult of Mac’s “highly placed source” is accurate, T-Mobile may start selling the iPhone 4 by third quarter 2010. The team-up is 80 percent likely, writes PC World. iPhone 4 would make T-Mobile a heavyweight
Currently the fourth-largest carrier within the U.S., T-Mobile would certainly vault over AT & T, Verizon and Sprint if the iPhone 4 deal happens. But PC World warns that there could be frequency issues. T-Mobile uses a non-standard band, and iPhone 4 hasn’t been tested on all the carrier’s ranges.
Possibly this should go in the iPhone 4 rumor discard pile
PC World writes that Cult of Mac has missed the mark numerous times before, so do not count your iPhone 4 chickens before they’re hatched. Considering the network cap issues Apple has encountered with AT & T (and also the relative animosity Verizon has shown toward Steve Jobs and crew), it could be that T-Mobile has the bandwidth to spare for iPhone users and an as-yet clean and clear relationship with Apple. Since Apple is already in cahoots with T-Mobile parent business Deustche Telekom in Europe, possibly T-Mobile has its foot in the door already.
Do T-Mobile waters look good to you?
If T-Mobile does indeed enter a partnership with Apple, the pool won’t stay sparsely populated for long. Besides antenna problems, iPhone 4 is quite attractive to tech buyers. It is the most serious competition for Droid and other top smartphones. Do you see it differently? Sound off.
